New reductions of integrable matrix PDEs — Sp ( m ) - invariant systems —

چکیده
We propose a new type of reduction for integrable systems of coupled matrix PDEs; this reduction equates one matrix variable with the transposition of another multiplied by an anti-symmetric constant matrix. Via this reduction, we obtain a new integrable system of coupled derivative mKdV equations and a new integrable variant of the massive Thirring model, in addition to already known systems. We also discuss integrable semi-discretizations of the obtained systems and present new soliton solutions to both continuous and semi-discrete systems. As a by-product, a new integrable semi-discretization of the Manakov model (self-focusing vector NLS equation) is obtained.

Matrix equations of hydrodynamic type as lower - dimensional reductions of Self - dual type S - integrable systems
We show that matrix Q × Q Self-dual type S-integrable Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) possess a family of lower-dimensional reductions represented by the matrix Q × n 0 Q quasilinear first order PDEs solved in [29] by the method of characteristics. In turn, these PDEs admit two types of available particular solutions: (a) explicit solutions and (b) solutions described implicitly by a syst...

متن کاملDifferential reductions of the Kadomtsev - Petviashvili equation and associated higher dimensional nonlinear PDEs
We represent an algorithm allowing one to construct new classes of partially integrable multidimensional nonlinear partial differential equations (PDEs) starting with the special type of solutions to the (1+1)-dimensional hierarchy of nonlinear PDEs linearizable by the matrix Hopf-Cole substitution (the Bürgers hierarchy). We derive examples of four-dimensional nonlinear matrix PDEs together wi...
متن کاملNew variants of the global Krylov type methods for linear systems with multiple right-hand sides arising in elliptic PDEs
In this paper, we present new variants of global bi-conjugate gradient (Gl-BiCG) and global bi-conjugate residual (Gl-BiCR) methods for solving nonsymmetric linear systems with multiple right-hand sides. These methods are based on global oblique projections of the initial residual onto a matrix Krylov subspace. It is shown that these new algorithms converge faster and more smoothly than the Gl-...
متن کاملCombination of inverse spectral transform method and method of characteristics: deformed Pohlmeyer equation
We apply a version of the dressing method to a system of four dimensional nonlinear Partial Differential Equations (PDEs), which contains both Pohlmeyer equation (i.e. nonlinear PDE integrable by the Inverse Spectral Transform Method) and nonlinear matrix PDE integrable by the method of characteristics as particular reductions. Some other reductions are suggested.
